Cabo 31 owner, Bert Brant and his son Cody released their first Blue Marlin together offshore of Morehead City on Saturday. There was a pretty good sailfish bite going on around the northeast corner of the Big Rock on Saturday, but the Jet Lag stayed offshore of the pack while waiting for a big bite. Their patience paid off when a 300 pound Blue Marlin crashed a bait on 50 lb. gear. Bert was pretty excited about his son catching his first Blue Marlin while he was running the boat. Way to go Bert. I hope you and your son have the opportunity to catch many more billfish together.
